Cv Journal was published to 1992 and the collection of interviews, features and reviews provided the foundation of the Cv/Visual Arts Research archive and subsequent publications.

Following Cv Journal the data-base shifted towards digital publishing, allowing a greater flexibility of communication. The collection of interviews with artists developed in two phases- first researched from 1988-92 and published in Cv Journal- then as an anthology, Interviews with the Artists: Elements of Discourse, (editions in 1993/1996/2001/2007). The second phase was researched from January to July 2010, published in October as Interviews-Artists: Volume TwoCv/VAR series 54 features an interview recorded in 1989 with the Manchester born painter Hughie O’Donoghue.

In it he recounts sources of inspiration in his development from Michelangelo and The Laocoön in Rome to El Greco and hisView of Toledo- the concern to achieve a dynamism in his work with descriptions of the renowned Sleeper and Irish Sea paintings.
